Davido in fresh battle over new artiste?

Nigerian music critic and entertainment writer Osagie Alonge has gotten some backlashes from Davido for the former’s comments on the HKN music label, the new Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) singer Mayorkun and the recent success of the single Eleko.

On May 4, Osagie and his team released a video in which he analysed the current trends in the new DMW label as well as the fact that Davido’s camp bought the views for Mayorkun’s Eleko on Youtube hereby putting the relatively unknown artiste under pressure.

Osagie also gave his candid opinions on B-Red, Shina Rambo and Davido’s music managerial policies, adding that the Aye singer needs some supports himself to stay on top of his game given the new global platform he is on.

But Davido who is clearly having none of that has fired back with expletives via his Twitter account.

In a set of tweets, the outspoken entertainer slammed the critic for his comments on the new singer and went on to issue a subtle, thinly-veiled threat:

And as if to confirm their talents given Osagie’s comments about Mayorkun being under pressure, the pop star dropped another post:

All of this happened in the early hours of Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Davido has continued to soar following his Sony Music deal of January 2016 and his last performance in Equatorial Guinea on May 2 witnessed a massive turn up:

Following his performance in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea on May 2, the singer left for Houston where he is billed to perform at the Industry Nite on May 7, 2016.

David ‘Davido’ Adeleke is the son of Nigerian billionaire industrialist Chief Deji Adeleke.

Born in Atlanta, he relocated to Nigeria at 19 and dropped his debut album Omo Baba Olowo in 2012, a project that was warmly received and critically reviewed.

In early 2016, he was embroiled in a lingering drama with his baby mama (Sophia Momodu) over the custody of his baby Imade, an incident that served as fodder for tabloids and the internet audience in Nigeria for weeks.

Regardless of this and other issues, he has soared against all odds.

From signing a music partnership deal with Sony Music in January 2016 to appearing on Fader magazine in February 2016, the Skelewu singer is definitely on a major trajectory.

He notched even further international recognition with an article from foremost entertainment platform Rollingstone on March 11.

The magazine stated that with his new Sony Music partnership, he just might become one of the world’s biggest stars.
