Wema Sepetu was arrested alongside 10 other suspects including Tanzanian celebrities singer TID, Dogo Hamidu, and Babuu wa Kitaa, a radio presenter at a popular Tanzanian FM station-Cloud FM.
Edaily reports that Dar es Salaam police boss Simon Sirro said the operation to arrest the suspected drug-traffickers began Friday. Five people were apprehended, and the additional 12 arrested Saturday
brings total number of suspected drug-traffickers currently in police custody to 17.
Sepetu and the other suspects will be allowed to record statements, before subsequent investigations get underway.
Meanwhile, according to Kenyan news media Tuko, Tanzanian police has also summoned Diamond Platinumz to appear come Monday, February 6, to answer to matters related to drug trafficking.
Diamond was summoned alongside other celebrities like former BBA winner Idris Sultan, singer Nay wa Mitego and MP Azan Zungu.
Diamond is currently married to Zari Hassan, a celebrity from Uganda who divorced her husband with whom they raised three boys.
Zari has two children, a girl and a boy who are both less than two years old with Diamond.
