Obama leaves high school students speechless when he crashes their lesson

A group of high school students were left completely speechless after Obama crashed their classroom on the first day back at school. 

McKinley Tech students, in Washington DC, were still settling into their new classes on Friday when in walked former POTUS Barack Obama.

You guys don’t mind me crashing right?’ he asked, as his audience struggled to maintain composure.

The former president then joined their circle and started tell them why it was important for him to meet people their age during his time in office.

He told them: ‘One of the things I did throughout my presidency was I’d meet with groups of young people everywhere I went, whether it was here in the United States or when I was traveling overseas. 

Just to kind of hear from them, find out what they’re interested in, because I do believe that most of the problems we have are going to be solved by you.’

 Obama later posted videos of his day out on Instagram and wrote: ‘Make us proud. You’re the next generation of leaders, and we need you.

University ,Poly workers begin strike

University workers  have issued a strike notice  to press home their demand for the implementation of their 2009 agreement with the Federal Government.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is on strike over the same matter.


The non teaching members made up of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) said the government was taking them for granted.

Acording to The Nation, part of the demands of the three unions include:

The payment of Earned Allowances
R review of the governance system in universities
Improved funding in line with UNESCO recommendations
Provisions of infrastructure in universities and payment of salary shortfall

Ugokwe said during the strike, there will be no provision of services no matter how skeletal.

He said: “If an agreement was signed in 2009 and now in 2017, we are still asking for the implementation of such agreement, does it not show that we have been exceedingly patient?

“Unfortunately, seven years after, we are still at the sorry situation we were before the MOU as the issues in contention were not addressed and government t kept a dead silence despite letters and entreaties reminding them, of their commitment to the non teaching staff unions”

Buhari and APC side-lined me after I helped them win the 2015 election- Atiku

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Wednesday, alleged that he had been pushed to the corner by President Muhammadu Buhari-led government which he said he helped into power in 2015.

According to Daily Trust, in an interview aired during yesterday’s morning programme of the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA), Atiku said he had been sidelined despite the fact that he used his contacts and resources to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.

    “Honestly speaking, I’m still a member of the APC; I was part of all the processes, including campaigns until success was achieved.

    “But sadly, soon after the formation of government; I was side-lined, I have no any relationship with the government, I’ve not been contacted even once to comment on anything and in turn, I maintained my distance. They used our money and influence to get to where they’re but three years down the lane, this is where we are,” Atiku said.

He praised President Muhammadu Buhari on the successes recorded in the fight against Boko Haram, but said it was not yet time to celebrate because the ruling government had failed in many fronts.

    “Yes, there were successes but not comprehensive success because the Boko Haram miscreants are still very active, killing our people and many local government councils in Borno and Yobe are under their firm grip. People cannot dare go back to their dwellings.

    “This thing baffles me; I never imagined that Nigeria will fight a protracted battle with Boko Haram for five years. At a time, we fought the Biafra war, which was more complicated because of the terrain in the South but the Biafran soldiers were roundly subdued in 30 months. But here we’re, fighting an endless battle with the Boko Haram and there’s no end in sight,” he said.

On corruption, Atiku said very little was achieved in that respect.

    “How many people were arrested, prosecuted and jailed? How much was recovered from the looters?
    “When we came on board in 1999, I remember we recovered between $4.5 and $4.7 billion from those that looted under (Late Sani) Abacha,”‎ he said.

Police Deploy More Men To South East, South South To Prevent Nnamdi Kanu From running away

New reports have it that police have increased their personnel in the South-East and South-South zones of the country in a bid to prevent a breach of the peace, which may result from the activities of Biafran agitators ahead of the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.

According to Punch, asides the Mobile Police Force operatives, the police force has also deployed the Counter-Terrorism unit, the Intelligence unit and other conventional policemen, who would work with the state commands in the South-East and South-South zones.

Sources in the Police force also told Punch that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has been placed under surveillance to prevent him from fleeing the country should the court revoke his bail and order his re-arrest for allegedly flouting his bail conditions.

Frank Edoho steps down as host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire(WWTBAM)

Popular broadcaster Frank Edoho, has been dropped by sponsors of  family game show, Who Wants To Be A Million after a 13-year stint with the show.

Recall it was announced that the game show would be back on air with a new sponsor, Airopay, earlier in the week, well it seems they are now going with a new host.

An organiser of the show told Saturday Beats the split was amicable.
